Our teacher is Mrs Whitaker. Mrs McNamara and Mrs Robinson also support us with our work. Mr Overton teaches some of our children for Maths and English every morning and Mr Harvey covers my PPA by teaching us Science on Friday afternoons.
So our new year 6 children have made a really good start this year already. Our Head boy (James) and Head girl ( Amy ) are proving to be fantastic role models and are taking their roles seriously!
The children have started to produce good work, some of which is fabulous! Year 6 also seem very keen to get started on their half termly homework grid…..keep it up year 6!
We are having a strong focus on vocabulary this year. Please make sure your child reads every night and gets their Reading Record signed.
The correct PE kit is needed in school, PE will take place on Thursday afternoons. We have started improving our Tag Rugby skills already.
Bishop Philip will be coming to visit us as very soon. He will talk to us about his time at Walsingham. This will help us learn a lot about pilgrimage.
Our Class Bible Verse
‘therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit’ (Matthew 28 v 19)
Our Class Worship this term will be on Wednesday 7th November. We will be discussing e-safety. Please get this date in your diaries – it would be lovely to see as many of you as possible.
Homework is given at the start of each half term and needs to be completed and handed in every Friday. Spellings will be given out every Monday and need to be learnt for a test on Fridays.
I will be explaining a little more about Y6 SATS at our Meet the Teacher afternoon on Tuesday 11th September at 2:45pm but also you will be getting more information from me throughout the year. Also, don’t forget to secure your child a place at Secondary School – forms need to be submitted online by 31st October!
Attendance is vital in Year 6. Any learning that is missed is sometimes difficult to catch up with as we have to move at quite a fast pace!!
