Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

Our teacher is Mrs. Law.

We are supported by Mrs. Allum. Mr. Overton teaches us PE and Computing on a Tuesday afternoon.

Our Bible verse is ‘To love the Lord God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.’ Deuteronomy 6:5.

We have been outside using the new playground markings as part of our Maths lessons. We can use the numbers to add, take away and multiply.

Year 4 have been busy having debates. We have been learning to use language such as ‘in my opinion’, ‘I disagree’ and ‘on the other hand’.

Our school have pledged to become a reading school. We are tying to read our class novel, ‘The Sheep-Pig’ by Dick King-Smith in as many places as we can around school. Here we are in the school library.

In Science this half term we are learning about ‘Classification’. Here we are classifying the different minibeasts we found on the School field and on our two playgrounds.

Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Please make sure that the children have the correct PE kit/ swimming kit in school. PE kits should be named. Jewellery (watches and earrings) must not be worn for PE.

Friday is our homework day! Spellings, times tables and a piece of English or Maths are given every Friday for the following Friday.

Reading books should be brought into school every day. Please read at home every night and sign the reading record.

Our school library day is on a Friday. Remember the more library books you read, the more raffle tickets you will get to be entered into our school draw to win a prize.
