I always love my visits to Holy Trinity School. The school combines a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere with a real ambition amongst the staff that children will do their best and develop their God-given gifts to the full. The Christian ethos is central to the life of the school and it is a place where prayer and worship is highly valued. I always love doing my best to answer the searching questions the children ask as they explore faith and the purpose of their lives, and that atmosphere of enquiry and exploration is a precious part of the school’s life. It is a school where children can both be themselves and explore what they are for.

St Matthew’s Church
Holy Trinity is one of those places I enjoy being more than anywhere else in my work as the Vicar of St Matthew’s. Such a warm family atmosphere and always guaranteed a wonderful welcome. It’s a real joy to lead worship and attend occasional classes as well as being a member of the governing body. If you are considering Holy Trinity as a place of education for your children, I’d be delighted to recommend this Christian school and would encourage you to take a visit whenever that might be possible.

St Matthew’s Church
It’s fantastic that we have a positive connection between St Matthew’s Church and Holy Trinity School. It’s always a joy to visit the school to lead Collective Worship, contribute to RE lessons or join in with celebrations and big events. It’s also brilliant to welcome both class groups and the whole school into our church building on a regular basis. For the last two years we have done Prayer Spaces in school during the summer term which has been a wonderful opportunity for everyone to explore creative ways to communicate with God. Having a good partnership between church and school means we can work together to support local families for example through vouchers for the community grocery or through distributing good quality second hand school uniform. Getting to know local families also makes it easier for people to get involved with activities based at St Matthew’s including Fun Church on Monday afternoons and our uniformed organisations. The focus on faith, family and friendship at Holy Trinity is evident when you meet with any of the children or staff, the school is very welcoming and there is a true care for each other in the school community.

I would just like to put on record the close links shared between school and Governors, and how much we enjoy visiting school. As Governors, we appreciate our enthusiastic, energetic and ambitious leadership team, with deeply committed and dedicated staff, who enjoy the support from the Clergy of our Parish church. Our mission statement of “Growing and learning in Christ through faith, family and friendship” defines our role, to ensure every child matters.
Our school delivers a caring, happy, and friendly Christian environment in which all of our children are seen as special and unique. We are committed to providing the best possible education to every child in our care, through which they can all achieve their potential, academic or otherwise, as individuals which with school we jointly celebrate.
Governors take pleasure going into school to regularly meet subject leaders where they learn how resources, particularly Pupil Premium, are focused on achieving the best outcomes. When visits weren’t possible during lockdown it brought home what a delight making those visits had been.
In addition to traditional classroom teaching, school’s creative approach to delivering education includes extra-curricular clubs – with lots of sports – along with instructive excursions, which the Governing Body supports both metaphorically and physically, by volunteering their attendance to join in the fun.
Our strong Christian ethos encourages our children to become confident, independent, and resilient young people who enquire about the world around them, underpinned with our Christian values of honesty, kindness, resilience and doing your best. The Governors believe it is this approach that produces such well-behaved pupils, who show each other such mutual respect.
